The North Gate Equestrian Team accepts riders from all schools and other stables that do not have IEA Teams.
The 2016 IEA NATIONAL FINALS were held at the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park on April 21-24.  The North Gate Equestrian Team made IEA history in being the only team to have both their Upper School and Middle School Teams win the Champion title at Nationals in the same year!

Our team is part of Zone 1, Region 3. Our coach, Pamela Duggan is the Region President and is happy to answer questions for riders or new forming teams!  Visit the Zone website for more information here.

For the 2014-15 IEA season, the North Gate Equestrian Team had the largest Huntseat Team in the Nation with 50 riders!  Our Upper School Team qualified and competed at the National Horse Show being the only team in our Zone to compete two years in a row at Nationals!

For the 2015-16 season, North Gate again has the largest team in the nation with 50 riders!

We are the only team to have won the Sportsmanship Award at the National Horse Show two years in a row and the first recipient of the Coaches Sportsmanship Award!

In January of 2016, North Gate senior Jocelyn Pratt was elected to the IEA Youth Board to represent Zone 1! We are so proud of her accomplishment!

We are proud of our teams and riders and welcome new riders!  Please contact us for more information.

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) was founded in 2002 to support the athletic efforts of middle and high school equestrians throughout the United States.  The IEA provides membership and event structure for students to participate in Hunt Seat, Western and Saddle Seat competitions.

The riders show in a draw-type format that “levels the playing field,” and prepares them for intercollegiate riding and scholarships.

Riders from 6th grade through 12th grade are eligible to participate at IEA horse shows from September through April with classes offered for riders able to walk, trot and canter in a group. Riders compete both individually and as a team in hopes of earning enough points to qualify for the National IEA Horse Show!

Each spring, the top riders and teams are tested at the regional and zone level, and finally, the best from each division are invited to the IEA NATIONAL FINALS!
